How does this work, do you get paid no matter what, or do you have to have a certain amount of blog views?

Neither, actually. You are paid if the advertiser who set the bid for your blog post approves of your blog post and meets their criteria. I've attached a short video link that explains it. Though this video is from the advertisers perspective, you should get the idea. This site is pretty cool, I've made on average about $70 a week.
